The Dinner Menu

Dinner was served nightly from half past four until half past nine. This is the menu as it stood, kept with the prices that were printed on it.

Archived menu. The Harbor Grill closed on 30 September 2022. Prices are those printed at the time and are recorded for the archive only.

Appetisers

The starters leaned raw and fried in roughly equal measure, and several of them doubled as the whole of somebody's dinner at the bar.

Soups

Salads

Dressings offered: ranch, blue cheese, caesar, thousand island, italian, oil and vinegar, honey mustard.

Burgers

Seafood specials

All seafood specials came with sautéed vegetables and a choice of hand-cut chips, garlic mashed potatoes or rice pilaf. This section was the heart of the menu and the clearest statement of what the kitchen believed about fish — buy it well, put it over wood, and then decide where in the world the plate is going.

The two Pacific halibut preparations are a fair sample of the method: one plain off the grill, one with baby bok choy in a Madras curry broth. Same fish, same fire, two entirely different dinners.

Three-course prix-fixe

The restaurant ran a daily prix-fixe at $33 for one item from each of three courses.
